SSD HD Question for my PC

Hi.

Im looking at this auction on ebay for a Corsair Extreme X256 High Performance SSD Drive that is REFURBISHED.

The price seems amazing and I just wanted to ask if you guys could help me out on if this is a good buy or not.

Cause I have heard some thing about refurbished items.

Please help me!!

My PC specs are on my Profile just in case and here is the ebay link:

Thanks!!

I wouldn't. Never know if it is good or not. Get a cheaper SSD thats 80-120 GB for your OS and a few select programs (perhaps a game or two, some programs you use alot and need the extra speed). Put everything else on a 7200RPM HDD with as much GB as you want

It looks like a good price IF AND ONLY IF the dealer is legit and the drive is in fact factory refurbished.

The problem is, you have no way of knowing if that is true.

Any purchase of computer hardware from an unknown dealer on ebay involves a leap of faith. You pays your money and you takes your chances.

I find it peculiar that the Internet is littered with similar offers trying to sell that particular drive by many different second and third tier sellers. Make of that what you will.

It is further peculiar that I don't see that particular drive offered for sale at a well-known legitimate retailer.

Would I take a chance on it? No.

manufacturer refurbished could mean it had a wonky sticker and just had a new one put on lol.. tempting.. still would have a warrentey with corsair.. which is second to none.
