Windows 7 - OCZ SSD freezes pc weekly, looking for alternate option

As an update, I have bought an Intel 510 SSD. That is now my OS drive, while my OCZ Vertex 3 is the games drive, and the WD Caviar Black is for storage/games. After doing further research comparisons across a few notable SSD brands, it appears the Intel is the most reliable out of the box and compatible with a large amount of system setups. So far the Intel 510 has been stable, alongside the not as reliable Vertex 3. Although it's not as fast as the Vertex 3, I'd definitely recommend it for those who don't want to update firmwares often, or for very solid stability/compatibility, especially for previous generation systems. Thanks to Seven Eleven for giving me some tips regarding firmware.

Months ago i've updated to 2.13. And no crashes after that. So for me it works and i haven't and will not risk update to latest (2.15? or something newer?).

I have 3 Crucial M4's installed on 2 computers. I have never had any problem with them freezing or BSODing. I'm quite happy with them. I really can't answer about the Vertex 3's as I don't use one. However, firmware updates are usually to correct known issues. You will have firmware updates with any SSD. But, my guess would be if the firmware or controller of the vertex does something to make it freeze, it will freeze whether an OS or not.

Ok sorry if this question seems stupid, i'm not the best when it comes to computers. I have 2 hard drives the Ocz SSD and a normal hard drive i downloded the tools to update my SSD onto my normal drive as i have windows7 on there and i can use it to boot because updating the firmware is not supported when windows is running off the drive you are updating.
The problem is the update is failing as my SSD is set to "Drive0" and it says this on there website.."Drives must not appear as "Drive0" for updates. Please ensure update is not performed on a disk set to primary"
My question is can you tell me how i change this to do the update then i can change it back after i update the SSD, or is it to complicated to do for a novice?

If you are asking how to not make it drive 0, simply change the data cable to another port. Then after the update change it back. The OS should be port 0. If you like, swap the data cables between your 2 hard drives to do the update, then switch them back. The only issue you may have, but probably won't, is to check the boot order in bios.

...or you can follow this guide and flash it without cable switching.

I have an Agility 3 that shipped with the latest 2.15 firmware, and it's been rock solid and stable for me.
