Keyboard stopped working

Hi. I have a PS2 keyboard that I use with my Windows XP computer. Yesterday it stopped working for no apparent reason. Under device manager, it said something about a code 19... I researched this problem and tried some solutions, now it says "this device is working properly." But clearly it is not.

Oddly enough, during start-up the keyboard works perfectly. But after that, it does nothing. I have tried unstalling it, which also did nothing. I have tried downloading and using "kb_code39_fix.reg" which is commonly suggested as a solution, but I only get an error message when I try to open it.

And finally, I get an error message when I try to open my on-screen keyboard. Anyone know how I might go about fixing this?
