Windows 7 - CD/DVD won't open/won't recognize

| | CD/DVD won't open/won't recognize So when I try to put a disc into the CD or DVD drive I am unable to open it or view it. I can feel the CD spinning within the laptop, but nothing appears on my screen. I'm running an HP pavilion. |

| | Go to Control Panel>Default Programs>Change AuotoPlay Settings and see what is going on there. Open Windows Explorer and double-click the DVD drive icon to see if the disc will launch from there. I don't know how old your computer is, but you may have a faulty drive e.g. no laser beam to read the disc. It could just be a cracked or dirty disc you've inserted. Have you tried a different one? |
