Windows 7 second hardrive not recognized

I am dual booting with Windows 7 RC and Windows XP Pro. In XP my second hard drive is seen but not in Windows 7. I tried looking in Device manager and it is not listed. I tried looking in Disc Manager and it is not listed. I also tried using Disk manager in XP to format the drive and changed the drive letter to Z and still it's not showing up. Any ideas?

Did you formatted it to NTFS?

What is your opinion of the terabyte hard drive? What chance have you of filling it up any time soon?

I like the drive. The speed increase is noticeable and it's quiet. I have filled 300 gigs of the drive so far. Every hard drive I've bought over the years I thought I would never fill, but programs just keep getting larger and I keep collecting files, next thing I know I'm buying another. So the short answer is yeah I think I will fill it after a couple years.

Could be your system boots so fast, the bios have no time to recognise the drive.
(or the drive reports so slow to Bios)

Go into bios and look for disk wait states or something similar.
Warning! Not memory waitstates, that's completely other matter.

If you are reluctant to enter the bios or unsure, post your mainboards brand and type.
I will look for the manual and tell you what to do.
