Windows 7 - 160 GB hard drive shows capacity of 55 GB in Disk Management

What would cause a such a large chunk of the hard drive to not appear in disk management - the capacity is approximately a third of the total drive (see attached)!?

I have used TreeSize and other tools to see if there is anything out of the ordinary, such as over-sized temp folders, pagefile, etc. But nothing but a couple over 19 GB (typical usage) shows (see attached).

Any help/suggestions are appreciated!

Have you tried extending the volume? Disk management is showing the full size under Disk 0, it is just your C: partition that is smaller than the disk's full size.

Post images of the following before trying to extend: Start Menu->All Programs->Accessories->Right click Command Prompt->Type Diskpart

1. Type "list disk" without quotes and post the picture.
2. Type "list volume" without quotes and post the picture.
3. Type "select disk 0" without quotes
4. Type "detail disk" without quotes and post the picture.

Well, I just followed the link that Sub Styler provided and extending the drive was the answer. That was a super easy, quick fix! Thank you much!!

Now showing as 149 GB Capacity with 100 GB free space - Whoo hoo!

Does anyone know how/why this is caused?

It is typically an error in expanding/shrinking the space on the drive, or the partition never was fully written.
