Hard Drive Errors caused by Motherboard issues?

My HD Model: WD1002FAEX-00Z3A

HD Tune gives me a warning: Current Pending Sector 1, Current 200 Worst 200 Threshold 1

WD Data lifeguard Diagnostic for Windows says "Quick Test on Drive 1 did not complete! Status Code =07 (Failed test element), Failure Checkpoint = 97 (Unknown Test), Smart Test did not complete.

But I also received a multiple Windows 7 Event Errors: The driver detected a controller error on \Device\Harddisk5\DR5.

I can no longer access HD Tune even if I redownload it. Windows Checkdsk showed a file that needed it's clusters moved. That's about it.

Does it sound like I am dealing with one or more issues? How can I troubleshoot? My HD is still under warranty. However, I am not so sure about my Asus MB.
