    ExpressCard and USB Bandwidth

I'm wanting to do a uStream broadcast with 4 different USB HD WebCams. I have a Sony Vaio laptop with 3 USB Ports (I think they all use one controller) so I've tried using a USB hub and splitting them around the ports as best I can.

Am I right in thinking it will make no difference to performance because all the traffic will go through the same controller? And if so is it also true that if I add an ExpressCard with USB 2 / USB3 capability this would be an effective way of splitting the traffic and improving performance?

I wasn't sure if a USB ExpressCard simply routed the traffic via the existing USB Controller or if it handles it some other way. Would using an USB ExpressCard give me a performance advantage?
