Code 19 corrupt registry preventing me from using DVD ROM.

The DVD ROM is unusable on my laptop because its configuration information (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged (Code 19). I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the drive and I have also tried to use system restore all to no avail. Does anyone have a way of repairing this problem.

Regards

AF
