Acer travelmate 5760 fingerprint device not detected

Hi, I just bought a new acer travelmate 5760-2434G64M laptop with windows 7 ultimate x64.
Everything is perfect except the control panel harware and device doesnot show fingerprint device. also the Bio-protection software cannot detect the device.

Device manager shows driver for Secure biometrics devices (EgisTec ES603). It shows the driver is up to date and working properly.

I have tried installing the driver form the DVD provided and also from Acer website.

    Please help me.
    thanks in advance.

Hi bcas, welcome to 7F :)

Three places you can check, one would be the bios, the others would be in Component Services and Services.

Look for anything pertaining to Secure biometrics devices, Bio-protection or Fingerprint device.
If you find any that are disabled, set them to Auto or Auto (Delayed Start).

How to: Services - Start or Disable

Hi, thanks for the suggestions. But I looked at bios and there are all the devices enabled but Biometric, Fingerprint or Egis is not listed. Similar is the case in Services; biometric deviece or something related to it is not in the list.
    is there any other ways.
    Thank you.

Yes, for other important Service settings I was going to refer you to Black viper's web site. He has a list for SP1 Service Configuration Settings, but the connection kept timing out for me.

Check it yourself when you get the time.
