| | MY HDD Trasfering very slowly!!! PLZ help my external harddisk seagate 500gb is trasfering very slowly in KB/s lyk 300 KB/s sometimes it stucks in between....and never copy....previously it was working fine....i m trying to copy a big bunch of mp3 files....... my Laptop spec: core i5, 4 gb ram..... plz help i tried defragmentation and error check no use.....i even tried changing the policies for better performance  |

| | Connect the external hard disk in any other usb slot. If its possible remove\copy paste everything from your external hard disk in a safe place. Quick format the external hard disk. Scan disk for errors including the Scan and Attempt Recovery of Bad Sectors. Then put everything back. During the copy\paste check your system memory usage and post it here. |

| | did you change any setting in bios? you should try to get the newest drivers for it |

Actually its not copying at alll!!!!! @ dsk04 no i dint change any setting!!! @whs ya its did tat also!!!! but in the poilcies tab it wasnt exact as per pic but i did try wat u wer trying to say!!! still no change!!! |

| | This would a USB powered External drive right? as in one of these Seagate External Portable Drives | Seagate If that is so i believe that its internal power is running low and you need to have both USB connectors plugged in, leave to charge for an hour before trying to transfer any data Unless its a drive that runs from an external power source (NOT USB) then i hope that my solution helps |
