personally id go with an 1055 socket not a 1366. the core i7 2600k is a very nice cpu, and comes unlocked so over clocks like a charm. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Built by badgers!!! I agree with Badger, its 1155 socket I am sure badger just made a typo.
Much newer tech, if you have a max of 200 euros then the 2600k is too expensive but the i5 2500k is an excellent CPU and well within budget. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Paulpicks Special Edition OS windows 7 64 bit CPU i7 2600k @4.6ghz Motherboard Asus P8P67 EVO Memory 8gb G.skill Ripjaws X DDR3 2133Mhz 10-11-10-28 Graphics Card 2x KFA2 GTX 560ti Anarchy Edition in Sli Sound Card Xear 3d C Media PCI Monitor(s) Displays 27" Hanns-G HL272 Screen Resolution 1920x1080 Keyboard Logitech Mouse Coolermaster Storm Inferno PSU Antec Truepower New 750 Case Antec 1100 Cooling Thermaltake Frio. The 2600 1155 socket CPU outperforms much more expensive 1366 socket CPUs. Runs a little cooler and uses a bit less power too.
Look at some comparative benchmarks. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Ignatz Special; 4 speed manual gearbox; factory air conditioning; one of one OS Windows 7 SP1, Home Premium, 64-bit CPU Intel Sandy Bridge i5-2500, not overclocked Motherboard Gigabyte H67A-UD3H-B3, full ATX Memory 4 GB Crucial DDR3-1333 Graphics Card none; graphics are integrated on CPU Sound Card onboard: Realtek ALC892; external: USB Behringer UF0-202 Monitor(s) Displays NEC 90GX2-BK 19" LCD Screen Resolution 800 x 640 Keyboard Leopold Tenkeyless with Cherry Blue switches, USB Mouse Logitech or Microsoft optical wired; either USB or PS 2 PSU Seasonic SS-560KM, modular Case Antec Solo II Cooling CPU: Scythe Big Shuriken; Case: Scythe Slipstream 800 & 500 Hard Drives System: Intel 320 Series SSD, 80 GB;

Yes they perform amazingly well for the price.
The 1155 socket is much newer, the CPU's run cooler and consume less power, the 2500k and 2600k overclock amazingly.
There are many 1155 socket motherboards around, if you like Asus then the P8P67 pro has always been a very popular choice, it overclocks well and is very reasonably priced.
All depends on your total budget really.
