Convert non boot drive to spanned drives without losing data?

Currently I have a 1TB boot drive that I have my videos on.

I plan on getting a SSD that I will use as a boot drive.

Later on, I'd like to get a second drive to increase my capacity to 2gb.

But I'd like to have them act as a single drive, so I'd like to convert them to a spanned drive.

However, I don't have a drive big enough to back up all of the videos.

So:

Can I span this drive to another one without losing data? And thoughts about this setup?
