| | AMD CPU fitting Have got an older Compaq that has a AM2 socket with a 1.8GHz Sempron original and I have bought two Athlons x64 dual cores to up the ante. However the Athlons don't fit the AM2 socket and looking at the bottom of the Sempron there is a pin less in one of the corners that the Athlons do have and they will not drop into the socket. Am stumped as to why the Athlon pin arrangement is different as the board specs tell me Athlons (including x2's) right up to 5000+ fit this board. Any help please?
