Burning DVD's doesnt work.

Hello

Where to begin a while back i got maybe 1 ruined dvd from burning but now evry dvd that i try burning doesn work.

Thot that maybe its a sofware problem so i used CDBurnerXP v4 3 7 and it doesn work. The error report sayed somthing about that this usualy happens if a dvd is poor quality. Nerro say's that there is an error when checking the data. I use the check if the compilation is burned option.

So im thinking that my dvd burner is broken. On a nother note i can read dvd,cd's normaly.

I shuld mention that some times when i burn the burner is making strange voices hard to explain.

In the pictures you can see what the program CDBurnerXP v4 3 7 say's about my recorder .

So bassicaly what do you think its wrong ? is there any way to test it ?

Thank you all!

Some times when i burn the burner is making strange voices, are yolu sure the strange voices are not in your head

Just joking, does the noise sound like the disk spinning up or more like the sounds of a hard drive head going crazy over a bad sector on the hard drive?

Some noise is ok but if it is making more noise then what it had in the past then something is probably going bad with it.

Im sure they are not in my head. Normaly you hear how it spin but that noise is like its jumping or i dont know how to explain it.

Its like going crazy. It spin's normaly but then like scratching if that makes any sense. does that a fev times and then it continues.

Type trouble shooter in start menu Search bar. Then click on "Find and Fix problems".

Left Snip.
Check mark box all the way at bottom toward left side "Get the most up to date".
Then click View all - I circled below in yellow.

Right Snip highlighted in blue click Playing and Burning.
Then follow prompts in next windows that come up as needed.

Never used it myself for your problem so results may vary with mileage.

I hope that helps.

If you have a different brand of DVD/R try one. The scratching noise is not normal though.

My first inclination is to say the drive is bad due to the noise you described. I had one with similar noises which was bad. some drives are real picky about disk brands too. I stick with Memorex my self, here is more info.

The troubleshooter was all I had that might give you some insight in to the problem.
Anything else is a guess on my part.

Sorry about the language difference. I do not have a clue to what else to call it.
I looked for a Forum tutorial on the Troubleshooter/Fix-it but didn't find one.

As Gary posted the noises are often the drive mechanicals going bad.
