    Cannot boot from DVD

I have a Gigabyte GA-P55A-UD3 v1 MB. I can select the boot menu and I can change the boot sequence in the bios, but I cannot get the machine to boot from a DVD. It just ignores it. I even set none of the boot devices to hard disk and it still booted from the hard disk.

Does anyone have a tip on a way to get the machine to boot from DVD?

On my Gigabyte mobo, there's the option to press F12 to select a one-time boot option. That lists everything that the BIOS believes can be bootable. Try that and see if that works for you.

Tried that, too. Just went to hard drive. It may be there is something wrong with the disk and it is not bootable? I have my original Win7 install disk. I will try that.

What options does the Bios give you for booting? One of them should be DVD.

The bios allows me to select 3 boot devices. I do not know why, but it lists devices I do not even have on my computer. It has both CDROM and a listing for my specific drive- Pioneer BD-Drive. According to Gigabyte I should be able to select either of these and it should work. I selected them both for boot #1 and #2 and disabled #3. It still booted from the HDD. It did do something different though. During POST it showed a message, "Loading Operating System......................................." Sort of like the message to hit any key to load from CDROM drive. Clicked keys and did nothing. Once it timed out it booted from the HDD.

When I do the F12 thing it does the exact same thing. In no case does it give me the normal "Hit any key to boot from CDROM".
