Hi John, here is the solution: 1 Open RegEdit - Click the Start Menu, go to Accessories and select Run. In the "Run" Dialogue box that opens type in "regedit" 2 Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > Software > Microsoft > Windows Portable Devices > Devices: 3 Find "USB#VID_05AC&PID_1297#CC642E1B9835D04E791694EAD74293EC398B1F36":
From inside there, double click the "FriendlyName" key to change "Apple iPhone" to "John's iPhone" or whatever your Name is and your Device is (iPhone, iPad, iPod). 4: Find ""USB#VID_05AC&PID_1297&MI_00#0" from Devices too and change that to "John's iPhone" too. Note The USB Registry Keys may be different, just change whatever USB Registry Keys you have in that selected RegEdit area. Information There may be other USB......... Registry Keys, if there are, change those too please. Log off and log back on to Apply the changes, if that doesn't help, restart. Before - After.. -
Hope this helps, it worked for me.
Good Luck, Joe. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number iRush Pro OS Windows 7 Ultimate x64 CPU Intel Core i5 2500K Processor Motherboard Intel H67 Chipset Motherboard (Micro ATX) Memory 2x4GB DDR3 1333Mhz Memory Graphics Card Novatech Radeon 6770 1GB Graphics Card Keyboard Novatech Wired Keyboard Mouse Novatech Wired Mouse PSU Novatech 500W Case Novatech ATX Gaming Case Cooling - Hard Drives 1TB Internet Speed VirginMedia 10MB/s |

just go to Settings>General>About>Name on the phone and change it to what you want it to say.
Mine says Zepher's iPhone in My Computer as well as iTunes.
EDIT: just checked and it does not say my name in My Computer.
It was my old HTC Touch Pro 2 that had my name. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number HAL-9000 OS Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit CPU Intel i7 2600K @ 4.44Ghz Motherboard Asus P8P67 Pro Rev 3.1 Memory 16GB DDR3 1333 Corsair XMS3 Graphics Card XFX HD5850 1GB EyeFinity Sound Card Logitech G35 & Sennheiser PC135 & VIA HD Monitor(s) Displays 23" HP 2310e, 23" Samsung B2230, 21.5" Viewsonic Screen Resolution 5760x1080 Keyboard Logitech G15 and G13 Mouse Logitech G700 Gaming Mouse PSU Antec True Power New 650watt Case Cooler Master HAF-932 Cooling Corsair H60 Hydro Cooler, 3x 230mm Fans, 2x120mm Fan Hard Drives 16TB of Storage

does that mean every iPhone plugged into the computer will now say "Zepher's iPhone"? | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number HAL-9000 OS Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit CPU Intel i7 2600K @ 4.44Ghz Motherboard Asus P8P67 Pro Rev 3.1 Memory 16GB DDR3 1333 Corsair XMS3 Graphics Card XFX HD5850 1GB EyeFinity Sound Card Logitech G35 & Sennheiser PC135 & VIA HD Monitor(s) Displays 23" HP 2310e, 23" Samsung B2230, 21.5" Viewsonic Screen Resolution 5760x1080 Keyboard Logitech G15 and G13 Mouse Logitech G700 Gaming Mouse PSU Antec True Power New 650watt Case Cooler Master HAF-932 Cooling Corsair H60 Hydro Cooler, 3x 230mm Fans, 2x120mm Fan Hard Drives 16TB of Storage

Or maybe each different iPhone inserted adds another USB Registry Key and you have the option to change that one too. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number iRush Pro OS Windows 7 Ultimate x64 CPU Intel Core i5 2500K Processor Motherboard Intel H67 Chipset Motherboard (Micro ATX) Memory 2x4GB DDR3 1333Mhz Memory Graphics Card Novatech Radeon 6770 1GB Graphics Card Keyboard Novatech Wired Keyboard Mouse Novatech Wired Mouse PSU Novatech 500W Case Novatech ATX Gaming Case Cooling - Hard Drives 1TB Internet Speed VirginMedia 10MB/s |

in regedit go here: Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > Software > Microsoft > Windows Portable Devices > Devices
then flick through the keys looking for the one with "Friendly Name" (current devicename) and change that. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Self Build OS Windows 7 Ultimate x64 CPU Intel Core2 Quad Q8300 2.5Ghz (@3.0Ghz) Motherboard Asus P5QD Turbo Memory Kingston HyperX 2x1GB DDR2 1066Mhz Graphics Card Asus/Nvidia 9500GT 1GB Sound Card On-Board HD Monitor(s) Displays 22" Widescreen TFT Screen Resolution 1920x1080 PSU 650w Case ATX with Mesh Detail no window (yet) Cooling 140mm front, 120mm Rear, 80mm Chipset + stock CPU and GPU Hard Drives 2x 320GB Seagate SATAII RAID 0 Internet Speed 12Mbps Other Info BT Home Hub 2.0B Unlocked to other ISP and VOIP |

Try going back to regedit and go here again: Microsoft > Windows Portable Devices > Devices and select something there, change it to "John's iPhone" and do the same for the other keys too.
Change the ""Friendly Name" Current Device key but not the "Defsult Keys".
I don't think all the USB Keys are the same name, just change change whatever "Friendly Name" Keys you do have. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number iRush Pro OS Windows 7 Ultimate x64 CPU Intel Core i5 2500K Processor Motherboard Intel H67 Chipset Motherboard (Micro ATX) Memory 2x4GB DDR3 1333Mhz Memory Graphics Card Novatech Radeon 6770 1GB Graphics Card Keyboard Novatech Wired Keyboard Mouse Novatech Wired Mouse PSU Novatech 500W Case Novatech ATX Gaming Case Cooling - Hard Drives 1TB Internet Speed VirginMedia 10MB/s Change name to iphone ??? problems?
