Recover >2TB Guid Partition after delete (didn't format yet)

During the Windows 7 install, when you have to choose which drive/partition to install too I deleted one too many partitions. I didn't format the drive yet, just pressed the delete partition button and confirmation.
The one which wasn't meant to be deleted is a partition of about 7.5 TB, of which 3.25 TB used.
This used a Guid partition table since the total size is > 2TB.

I already tried using testdisk to restore the partition, but no luck.
Testdisk does still see the files on the disk, but after writing the found partition table to disk it seems that testdisk only restores a partition of 2TB in size, the rest is considered unformatted space in Windows disk management.

Other specifications if required: 5x 2TB Samsung in RAID 5 using an Adaptec 5805 Raid controller.
The raid itself is fine, as expected.

I hope there's someone out there who knows a solution

Download Partition Wizard Free Bootable CD and burn the iso image in a blank CD; boot from the CD after burning. Try partition recovery wizard first . You will need another partition at least at par of the size of the partition you are trying to recover, as the destination.

There is a data recovery wizard option, too. That may also be tried .

These operations take a long time depending on the volume of data , but it works .

As an alternative, you may try Recuva.

I had also posted this issue somewhere else and ended up using a suggestion from there.
(Active@ Partition)

Unfortunately Partition restore wasn't possible for some reason but all the data is still on there, as I expected since I didn't format the drive yet.
Slowly copying the data to other media now.
After that I'll re-create the partition and re-copy the data.

Not the ideal solution but at least I still have my data.
