SSD upgrade. windows 7 inst. does not detect the ssd drive!!!

i just bought a 60GB crosair force3 ssd. i connected it as usb drive first and set it as an active partition, and formated it. then i took off my HDD and replaced it with the SSD. then windows installation did not detect my the SSD. i went to bios and i saw that the drive is being detected as a primary slave. its a sata so no jumpers needs to be changed... do you guys know of any other methods i could try to successfully fix this problem?

Try plugging the cable to the primary Master.

By doing it with the installation disk, Badger was meaning to boot from the disk, when you get to the first screen, do not select your language, hold down shift and press F10 and you will get a command prompt. Use diskpart to align and format the drive. If diskpart can see the drive, the installation disk should too. Also, be sure your bios sata controller is in AHCI mode before you install Windows.

It probably did not find it because you defined a partition on it - although it should. Try with unallocated space. The Windows 7 installer will do the alignment etc. You need not worry about that.
