Oki C5200 Printing Issues w/ Windows 7 32-bit & Windows 7 64-bit

My firm recently upgraded all of our computers to windows 7. Three of the computers were updated to Windows 7 64-bit, and two computers were updated to windows 7-32 bit.

We installed the Oki C5200 printer via lan to the Windows 7 64-bit computer. We shared the printer and was able to install the Oki C5200 via network to 2 64-bit computers and 1 32-bit computer. When we try to run a test page on the remaining 2 computers (one 64-bit and one 32-bit) the printing process shows one printing and another one spooling (so 2 documents in total for each test page) however nothing is printed.

We have unistalled all the drivers and printers from the computers and re-installed the printers and drivers, but we are still having the same issue. We dled the driver directly from the Oki site. Also, we added the 32-bit & 64-bit onto the printer through additional drivers on the sharing tab.

If anyone could help us out, we would greatly appreciate it. If possible, please describe the steps in layman terms since we are not computer technicians and have a limited understanding about computer. Thank you guys!!

If you are using AVG, the firewall may prevent you from printing. That was our problem. You can disable the firewall, use the firewall of Windows, or you can go in AVG to History, Firewarll, Log and click on the issue (it will show there as blocked), rigth click and allow it.

mgp1964 - I went through that and I have all the correct drivers directly from Oki's webiste.

jimbo45 - I went through your steps and was not able to add the printer by adding a new port (Local Port). It would say that the printer already exists.

vitaver - we do not have AVG intalled onto any of the computers.

Thank you all for helping me out but if you guys could give me some other ideas I would greatly appreciate it since I still have the same issue.

i suggest you check any firewall you are using. If you find a log, maybe it will show attempts to connect to your printer.

Hi there just delete the PORT. If you can't do that then simply create a new one -- just change the printer share name and then you can create a new local port.

The printer share name needs to be changed on the SYSTEM THE PRINTER IS PHYSICALLY ATTACHED TO.

Do that via the printer properties on THAT SYSTEM.

Note also when you add the printer on the REMOTE system (i.e the one where the printer IS NOT physically attached) uncheck the share this printer box as well.

Cheers
