Oh the ink is ridiculous, the only reason I haven't taken the C7180 out in the yard and beaten it with a 9 iron is because my neighbor's HP printer just broke (go figure) and he gave me a ton of cartridges

Yes, in the past I have always bought refilled cartridges off the internet, but I have considered buying a continuous ink system. I definitely would if it were possible to use one CIS for both printers, but I don't think that it is.

I just want the thing to die so I have an excuse to buy myself a nice new Canon. If I had a printer that actually printed good photos, I would have definitely invested in a CIS for it. Not sure if you can use one CIS for two printers though, I've never personally heard of anyone doing that but I suppose with enough time anything is possible

I just found this kit on eBay, which seems as though it could be made to work, because it uses the original cartridges. All that one would need is an extra set of tubes and connectors, including something to make a & connection to the tanks.

After watching the video, I wonder just how leak proof those connections are?

If you know how to drill into an old cartridge and attach the tubes to it then you could probably put some kind of splitter in for each of the inks and have them fork off for the two printers. It wouldn't be pretty but it would get the job done

For me, being pretty is not an issue, but getting the job done is. I sent a question to the vendor of that system, as to whether it is possible to buy one system with dual tubes and connectors, but will have to wait for the answer. Something else that bothers me is the ink flow from the supply tanks to the cartridges. Since they say that the tanks need to be at the same level as the printer, and it is obvious that there is no means to pressurize the tanks, I would guess that it depends on gravity flow. But if that is so, it would seem that for the ink to make the uphill journey at the printer would be a problem. I don't guess that the use of the ink would create enough vacuum to do the job...would it?

Have you ever had or seen someone clean a fish tank? Perhaps it works the same way, you create a vacuum by positioning the tube the correct way and then it starts to flow on its own. It's hard to explain but maybe look for a video on YouTube.

The thing I wonder about is the cartridge telling the printer it's empty. I was looking at a system like this for a Canon I was considering and apparently sometimes it makes the printer think that the cartridges are empty at which point you need to "reset" it.

I have 2 printers....One being an old old HP deskjet 6122 that is still putting out decent photo's. I buy the ink from
1ink.com. So as long as it keeps putting out decent prints I will leave my 9 iron in the bag.
The only thing bad about the self feeding system is that the lines might get clogged up from lack of use or in settling to the bottom.

The other is a Canon MP 830( couple years old) that is strictly used for faxing and quality photo's.
My Desktop and Laptop are both from HP'S and so far(knock on wood/my thick head) have had no issues NOR
contact with HP support. I am not fluent in languages outside of English other than a few unpublished words from various countries.

Have gotten all my help from the HP website or here at SEVEN FORUMS.
HAVE A SAFE AND HAPPY NEW YEARS EVERYONE...

You're very lucky to not have dealt with their support, it's by far the worst.

Does anyone have a Pavilion a6219h that they can give me the card reader driver for? I have no idea why they didn't post it on their site nor why I would have to pay for them to tell me where it is, I got transferred around between 3 departments and finally just hung up.

I miss the days of receiving a full restore CD with a computer purchase, my Alienware from June 2010 came with one so when I reinstalled the OS I had all the drivers on a disc (not that I needed them because the Dell support site actually had all of its drivers, imagine that!) Since then I've worked on a few newer machines where the OEM just sticks the drivers in a folder in the root of C: and calls it a day. Well once you do a reinstall where those drivers would actually come in handy, you're screwed if they're not on the support site.

My overall experience with HP has been terrible, but best of luck with your products and a happy new year to you too!
