For some odd reason, it ended up being a casing issue. I took everything out of the case and into another, and it fired up right away. Thank you all for the responses and solutions.

OR - Some part of the mobo was grounded - like a solder joint - that shouldn't have been contacting the case.

It's one of those problems solved with the actual cause unknown!

I hate when that happens! - At least I'm glad you got it going again.

A good example of why it is sometimes recommended to test the bare motherboard out of the case.

If one of the standoffs in the case does not line up correctly with the 'landing' hole in the motherboard the standoff can short circuit a pathway to ground. Sometimes just 'jiggling' the motherboard so it sits on the stands more precisely is all that is needed to correct the issue.

One thing I've seen a couple of times, particularly with first time upgraders, is they do not realize the standoff locations can be changed and that they must be changed to fit the screw pattern of the new motherboard. Because some of the screw holes line up with the old standoffs and they can get the board in they think they are OK. I find the standoff is sitting right under a solder post.

All motherboard manuals have a page with the proper screw pattern. Always follow it carefully!
