Windows 7 - My new 8 GB RAM isn't being used on my CQ57 - 315NR |

My new 8 GB RAM isn't being used on my CQ57 - 315NR I have recently installed 2-4GB DDR3-1333 (PC3 10600) SODIMM Kit of 2 CT51264BF1339.M16FMR. Sorry if that is too much information on the new memory but I just wanna make sure that I have complete details posted.
After I installed the RAM, I immediately checked my computer properties which shows the 8GBs of RAM installed. I understand that the computer doesn't use the 0.4 GB of RAM but that is not my problem.
Here is my problem. I try to test my RAM by opening several programs with the highest memory using settings but the CPU hits 100% when it's only using 2.5 GB or less. These are the same results prior to installing the extra memory. (I only had 2GB of RAM at the time but the results haven't changed.)
I am stuck with the same problem after calling technical support from the website that I ordered my RAM from. Crucial They instructed me too wait a few days and that the computer would get accustomed to the new memory enhancement but the performance hasn't improved in the past 5 days since installation. If anyone person could help me with my problem, I would be extremely grateful. | My System Specs | | OS Windows 7 Home Premiun 64bit |

Hi Daven,
I may be wrong here, but your Task manager screen capture implies that the processes you are running require CPU resources, and not additional RAM. I don't see any problems at all.
Which processes/programs are you running?

I was running Minecraft, League of Legends, a Chrome browser with multiple tabs opened and a Skype video call while I took the screenshot. How is it that i can use that 4393MB of extra RAM? My computer doesn't feel any faster after the installation of the 2-4GB RAM sticks. | My System Specs | | OS Windows 7 Home Premiun 64bit |

CPU usage and RAM usage are unrelated.
If you want to stress test it and see results use something like Passmark. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Custom built machine OS W7 x64 CPU Intel Q9300 2.5Ghz Quad LGA775 (Would like Q9650) Motherboard Gigabyte GA-EP45T-UD3R (F6 Bios) Memory 4Gb OCZ Gold 1,333Mhz Graphics Card Palit HD4850 O/C Sonic 512Mb DDR3, Dual DViD's Sound Card Azalia to twin Samson 50w Studio Monitors Monitor(s) Displays Twin Dell (E-IPS) U2311H 23.6" Screens Screen Resolution 1920 x 1080 @ 60Hz Keyboard Cherry PS/2 custom model Mouse Logitech M500 Laser Mouse PSU OCZ 600w Case Lian-Li PC8 acoustifoamed' aluminium tower Cooling Scythe 140mm Zipang Hard Drives Twin 1Tb Barracuda archivage, Twin TV/PVR 2Tb Samsungs, (80Gb Barracuda for the OS, but SSD envisaged...) Ahh, I had no clue if they did or not. I'm going to try Passmark out and see what I get.
Could you possibly give me a link to the software that I would use? I wouldn't know where to begin. | My System Specs | | OS Windows 7 Home Premiun 64bit |

There is nothing wrong with your RAM. Unless you run CAD programs, your RAM usage will not get a lot higher. Have a look at mine. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number HP, Dell, Gateway - 2 laptops and 2 desktops OS Vista and Windows7, sometimes Ubuntu and Fedora CPU from 1.6GHz Duo to 2.5GHz Quad Monitor(s) Displays 2x HP w2207 Keyboard with trackball - no mices Mouse terrible devices, who wants them Hard Drives 5x HDD, 2x SSD, 6x Externals Internet Speed DSL 6000 |

Ohh ok. I was hoping that more RAM would make programs run faster. So installing extra RAM is for what use? | My System Specs | | OS Windows 7 Home Premiun 64bit |

Think of your CPU as the boiler, and your RAM as an expansion tank... | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Custom built machine OS W7 x64 CPU Intel Q9300 2.5Ghz Quad LGA775 (Would like Q9650) Motherboard Gigabyte GA-EP45T-UD3R (F6 Bios) Memory 4Gb OCZ Gold 1,333Mhz Graphics Card Palit HD4850 O/C Sonic 512Mb DDR3, Dual DViD's Sound Card Azalia to twin Samson 50w Studio Monitors Monitor(s) Displays Twin Dell (E-IPS) U2311H 23.6" Screens Screen Resolution 1920 x 1080 @ 60Hz Keyboard Cherry PS/2 custom model Mouse Logitech M500 Laser Mouse PSU OCZ 600w Case Lian-Li PC8 acoustifoamed' aluminium tower Cooling Scythe 140mm Zipang Hard Drives Twin 1Tb Barracuda archivage, Twin TV/PVR 2Tb Samsungs, (80Gb Barracuda for the OS, but SSD envisaged...) You had better spent your money on an SSD. That gives a BIG performance boost. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number HP, Dell, Gateway - 2 laptops and 2 desktops OS Vista and Windows7, sometimes Ubuntu and Fedora CPU from 1.6GHz Duo to 2.5GHz Quad Monitor(s) Displays 2x HP w2207 Keyboard with trackball - no mices Mouse terrible devices, who wants them Hard Drives 5x HDD, 2x SSD, 6x Externals Internet Speed DSL 6000 My new 8 GB RAM isn't being used on my CQ57 - 315NR problems?
