Notebook as HTPC

I'm using a notebook as a HTPC (it's an ASUS Aspire 5552G). My problem is that when I resume the PC and lid is closed, there is no way to resume (I have to open the PC in order to start it). PC is connected to an external TV using HDMI. There is no configuration entry in the bios.
