Samsung External hard drive

hi

1) I recently bought a samsung external hard (1500GB). The problem with it was that i couldn't use it on my playstation 3. i was told to format it to Fat32 (something like that), to which i used someone's link which was provided to me. After formatting it, it was still not working on my PS and to make things worse, it was now not detecting on my PC. I use Windows 7. Can someone please help with both aspects of the problem.

thank you

Install free Partition Wizard which will often detect a drive when Windows won't. If so make sure it has a letter, or else rightclick to Add Letter.

If it still doesn't show up in Windows or PS, delete the partition and create a new Primary one in the native (NTFS?) format of the external HD. Assign a letter. Do not mark Active.

If problems persist, rightclick the drive to Check File System and if necessary run Surface Scan.

So, this hard drive is destined to be used as your PS3 drive?
