Mini CD won't work in my PC

    Hi,

I have a mini CD with the software for my Philips Voice Recorder. And I have got along fine without installing the software, but now the device is saying it is full, when I know I deleted all the files from within Windows Explorer. So I thought I should install the bespoke software.

But the mini CD is only showing a list of files including the installation exe file. But when I click on it in Windows Explorer, it says please insert a disk!

The DVD RW drive is a Hitachi HDS721010CLA332 ATA

    Any ideas?

    thanks

    Hello RealGem

Go to the Phillips website and search your device name !! There should be the software :)

I found the dictation section of the Philips site, but that didn't work because my device is not listed on their site. (It is from 2008 but they have others from the same year).

I have not had any success on the phone so far, and one person said as it's not under guarantee they won't be able to help me. Another said the phone staff only know current models sold on their website.

Is there any way I can get the mini CD to work please?

Does anyone know if there has ever been a problem with mini CDs working in DVD RW drives?

Or if Windows 7 has an issue with mini CDs?

    thanks a lot

    The voice recorder? - Sure:

It's a Philips Digital Voice Tracer 7655 (LFH7655/00E). Sadly I didn't know it was already "old" when I bought it bundled with Nuance Dragon Naturally Speaking 10 software in 2008.

I'm disappointed it isn't listed on Philips site, or their UK site.

Lots of sites (like this one) say it is available at the Philips site, and it might have been once but not now.

    thanks

    Wow!

    Thanks a lot N0b0dy!

I was contemplating on dusting off my old XP machine (and NOT looking forward to the idea!)

    Where did you get it?

Thanks, but can you tell me please what site Google gave you?

All I got was Fixya pages over a year old with out of date links.

I'm just wondering if you used a special search term that I don't know about, so I can do it next time and save pestering you guys.

    Thanks a lot
