I currently have two hard disks on my computer labeled C and E. At one time there was a D but it crashed. Now all my program files have been installed to C but all my data files (e.g. Microsoft Office, Music, ebooks etc) are on E. I would like to change the E drive to D (so things would be consistent between my laptop and my main system) and I think I know how to do that using Control Panel/Administrative Tools/Computer Management, but if I do that all the file pointers, for example the file pointers in the jump list for each program, will, I assume, be pointing to drive E which will no longer be there. Is there some way to do a search and replace on the entire registry to make all the pointers point to drive D and, if there is, is it safe to do that?
Thank you,
