    Dvd Will not read Dvd's

My Dvd drive will no longer read Dvd's since using Windows built in dvd burning software.
It is an internal sata drive, and will read cd's or burn a lightscribe label, so the drive is okay. Everytime I put in a data dvd or movie it pops open the dialoge box that do I want to use it as a usb flash drive or with a cd/dvd player. the cd/dvd player option is greyed out and will not select. It also want's to write a desktop config file???
I have deleted all progams that use the drive IE dvdfab nero etc etc. I deleted the upper filter, there was no lower filter. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the drive. I have an external usb and it works fine.
Any help with this would be greatly appreciated as my next step is to nuke windows and reinstall, and on this HP Elitebook, with all of HP's bloatware, well i really am not looking forward to that all day process.

Adding to this post it will read a regular dvd movie and will recognize a blank dvd, it appear it's just any disk I have previously burned either data or movie will not work.

    Thanks in advance.

    fixed

In case you run into this I had enabled hardware Virtuliation in the Bios when working on something else. Disabling it made the dvd come right back.....
