USB power events (event viewer) - Flash vs. portable
Just an aside as I use Task Scheduler for certain things.
I have a task scheduler to be triggered by a USB insertion event (a PnP power event with event IDs between 2100-2109). Plug in a USB flash/thumb drive and I get a message popup.
I never had a portable USB drive until a few weeks ago. Well, I plugged it in for the first time yesterday and NO USB power events in the log (2100-2109). It's being supplied power by the USB ports as it has no A/C adaptor.
Weird. You'd think any USB non-powered device would be treated the same....
