My Genius Easypen i405X tablet keeps clicking when I hover with pen.

    Hello everyone,

I bought a new Genius Easypen i405X tablet 2 days ago, and followed the Driver installation steps carefully (Installing the driver first then plugging in the tablet later), and started testing the device.

Everything was great except for a small annoying problem, when I hover the pen over the tablet surface about 1-2 cm away (without touching the surface with the tip) the mouse pointer clicks on the screen, usually a Right-Click. sometimes it drags items from the desktop at the area where I point the pen, or highlight text..

I'm using Windows 7 Ultimate x32, I tried the tablet on a laptop with windows XP, and it worked fine without any problems, not clicking when hovering at all. I tried it on another laptop with Windows 7, and the problem occurred again.
I'm guessing it's because of something in the windows but can't figure out what it is!

I've tried changing the tip, hitting the pen on it's side gently to release the pressure thingy in case it was stuck, changed batteries.. etc. (those are solutions I found on other sites) but none of them worked.

Please help, I want to use my tablet

Hi IDissU, Welcome to the forums , Lemur is correct in asking if you have the latest driver , The driver appears to be a generic broad OS type developed for win Xp and upgraded later for other OS's ,Try re-installing the driver under compatibility mode for Vista , see if that helps

    Thnx for the reply :)

I'm not sure if what I did is correct but, I started the "Setup.exe" file that came with the driver I downloaded from Genius website under Windows Vista compatibility mode, but nothing has changed, still the same problem
If this is not how you install a driver under Vista compatibility mode, could you please tell me how?

    Thnx for the tutorial
I tried installing the driver on Vista mode, didn't work. Then tried on Xp Sp2 mode, still didn't work.

as for the sensitivity, there's an option for whether it's soft or hard, but with both options the problem persists

what could be interfering with the device function that is related to windows 7?

IDissU, Can't find anything on the web , Have a look in control panel>devices and printers see if it's listed in there then right click on the device select properties and see if there are any settings you can adjust from there I'm afraid thats all I can offer ,Sorry

Well, thanks for the efforts anyway.
I'll keep checking on the web to see if I find anything useful. I'll post it here in case I do.
