Touchpad fail after MSWin7 Update

Lastnight upon shut down, my laptop had updates to deal with so I went to sleep. I fired it up this morn and it did what ever it does with those updates... Since then I have nad no touch pad. I tried the Fn/F9 and that was not it... so I checked in control panel etc... Got to the screen where I check/uncheck "disable for external device" or similar wording... Couldn't check/uncheck as it was not highlighted/activated... windo in that box was blank not showing a device at all...

I d-loaded driver but it says driver missing go to website for update to fix problem but cannot find "update" at synaptics site...

TIA,
Brent

First thing I would check is see if any of the updates that were installed were hardware related (drivers). Click on Windows Update and in the left pane click 'View Update History'. Another thing to check would be the driver in the Device Manager, there is the option to perform a driver 'roll back'. If the driver was recently updated this should re-vert it to an earlier one. Let us know if this works.

Hello Brent,

Here's the Synaptic touchpad 15.2.20 driver version download link below.
