TV not working with HDMI cable

So I bought this kind of HDMI cabel
I have a HDMI port on the backside of my case and my motherboard should support it.
So one end going into the HDMI port on the case and the other one goes into the TV, but my computer is not recognizing it.
I'm trying to dual screen, I have a normal PC monitor which is working fine, however the HDMI for the monitor looks like this and works just fine, what could the error be?

Are you trying to use the graphics card and onboard graphics?
    You can only use one.
IE: use the DVI and the mini HDMI from the graphics card.

In your system specs you say you have a 560 graphics card you need to use the connection on the card. Not the connections on the motherboard.

This is what it looks like, could you point out what you want me to do? :)

E: Read it again, so the top cable is actually useless? Why would I have a port there if it doesn't do anything?

Where you have the DVI cable connected next to that you have another DVI connection and next to that you have a mini HDMI connection.
You need to connect your new HDMI cable to the mini HDMI connector.
You should have got a mini HDMI adapter with the graphics card.
If not you will need to buy one.

Ahh I see, but why would I have a HDMI slot at the top if it doesn't do anything?

You're trying to use the HDMI port on your motherboard when you're using the DVI port on your graphics card, just to clarify.

Go to your desktop, right click and choose Screen Resolution. Click Detect and then go down to the box where it says Multiple Displays. Set your settings to 'duplicate these displays' and hit apply.

The one at the top is on the mother board.
It's only used if you are not using a graphics card.
