USB Scandisk Cruzer 16 gb "could not find this item"

I'm having an issue with my USB Scandisk Cruzer. I works on all the other computer in my house, except for the most important one: mine.

I get the message:

"Could not find this item

This item is no longer located in Computer. Verify the item's location and try again.

Removable Disk"

I have reformatted the disk on another computer and have also deleted the Scandisk driver and let it re-install itself to no avail.

I would appreciate if anyone had any idea what was going on and perhaps some clues on how to fix the problem

Thanks for you Time,
Meabh

Does this happen with all the pendrives?

Was your computer recognising the pendrive earlier?

Does the pendrive show up in Disk Management?

If it is there but without a drive letter, assign a drive letter and check.

If it does have a drive letter, change the drive letter and then check.

Also check your BIOS and that you have enabled USB.

You may also do a drive cleanup as in this post USB Flashdrive could not be found - Error Code 39
