SSD upgrade - 14GB unallocated space question

I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit with all updates.
On a Compaq Presario CQ61, dual core, 2.2Ghz, 4GB Ram.

I have recently upgarded my primary disk to a Corsair 120GB SSD drive.
I have only my operating system and applications on the SSD drive.
My documents and media files are on a 10,000 rpm 320gb HDD in the place of the DVD drive.
I also have a 500GB HDD USB drive for backups.
I now have my DVD drive setup as an external USB drive.

I notice that my 120 GB SSD drive has been setup with only 97.66 GB for the primary partition.
There is 14.33 GB of unallocated space which I would like to be available to me.

Am I going to cause myself any problems if I use a partition manager to extend the primary partition.

Seeing that I am using SSD for the first time I'm a bit nervous!

    Thanks,
    Chris

Hi Chris, Nothing to be nervous about. SSDs are no different than any old disk as far as partitioning goes.

Is the unallocated space to the left of the C partition or to the right of the C partition - look in Disk Management.

    Thanks for the quick reply!
The space is to the right of the primary partition.

    Cheers

That worked a treat, now I feel I'm getting full value for my money!
    Love the SSD performance!

    Thanks again,
