I currenlty have DDR3, 4x1Gb at 533 MHz and I am using approximatley 75% of my RAM. I am thinking I will see a significant performance improvement if I increase the RAM, but don't know what to buy.

Thanks!

I went to Crucial, but it doesn't list nVidea as a manufacturer option. Who do I pick?

NVidia is your graphics card.

Your computer is Alienware.

You can always use their "System Scanner" to autodetect your memory.

Lemure, really appreciate the help. I looked on the mother board and it really is a nVidia mobo (NVIDIA nForce 790i Ultra SLI MCP)

Crucial has a system scanner? I will try that.

My system is so screwed up that I have trouble keeping what is in it straight. I am one of the many screwed Alienware customers. Sent it back 7 times in 3 years. Eventually they replaced everything but the HD and the case.

OK, ran their tool and it gave me an error (told me what I had though - 4x1GB - and that I can go up to 20GB).
I am thinking of buying 2x4GB, maybe 1600MHz since it is a huge boost and relatively inexpensive. I think it will run (after reading the page I sent the link on) but appreciate any feedback.

Looks perfect - I found similar prices a couple of places, but just wasn't sure it would work in my computer. Thanks for the help - big rep from me!
