Missing Folders and Files in HDD

Hi Guys good day,

I have this query about missing files and folders, i have this internal seagte 250gb hdd, mounted in my pc tower, i just use this as a back up, but last month i decided to dismount it and use a sata to usb adapter to make it as a external hdd. It was ok before I haven't encountered any problem untill last saturday, i format my pc and install a same OS (win7ultimate x86), then after I finish all the installation (os to apps to drivers). I was surprise coz this hdd I'm talking about had still the same used/free capacity but when I open it was empty, I try to show a hidden files but still an empty hdd. This is the 1st time I encounter such problem. Please I need an advice for those who encounter this but been resolved.

Thanks...
