| | dvd drive disappeared after updating windows 7 ultimate x64 someone help my dvd drive disappeared after updates of windows 7 ultimate on my toshiba laptop satellite A205. in BIOS it is showning optical disk drive : NONE.  . someone help please.it is not even booting. i have googled for various options none is doing the trick |

| Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bits 7601 Multiprocessor Free Service Pack 1 SecretCity | So the only problem is: bios doesn't detect dvd reader/writer. So Windows 7 doesn't detect it as well. Does the dvd tray open? If you insert a dvd ... does it spin? Has nothing to do with updates! Or did you a dvddrive firmware update? |

| | i was having problems with windows xp i tried to repair it but wasnt gettig an activated one. i decided to install windows 7 on the second partition and all went well till when i updated it. bt with windows xp safe mode it is showing the dvd drive |
