    Windows 7 Pro Asus P5QC Moth.Board & Crucial 8GB 240 PinDDR3 PC3-10600

Every so often I find that the computer has rebooted on its own & numerous times while Reencoding Video I get Unexpected shutdowns. One of the errors shown is 0000000000041287, another is 0000000000000080 . It doesn't happen all the time but makes my computer unreliable. I tried to do a Memory test with MemTest 86+ v 4.20 but it freezes on me within 3 minutes of the test and I can not use keyboard or mouse & I have to reboot.

Crucial shows that this memory is fully compatible with my Asus P5QC Motherboard. I would like to post here some PDF files of these Unexpected Shutdowns but I honestly don't know how to add them in here.

I'm frustrated & have a feeling the MEMORY has intermittent failures.

Would appreciate help as I'm really not a Techie.

Are you trying to run the memtest from a bootable disc?

Do you experience the problem when using only 1 stick of RAM?

Regardless of which slot is used?

I downloaded the ISO and extracted it, then burned it to a CD, went in to the Boot Priority Sequence & set it to load the optical drive first & each time V4.20 Froze, I tried V3.5b & same conclusion I'm using 2 matched sticks of Crucial memory-CT2KIT51264BA1339 8GB (4GB x 2).

I'm adding three Unexpected Failure PDF's as attachments which occurred while Reencoding Video. I would like to call Crucial & tell them I may have bad memory but I would like a professional opinion firstlyProblem signature-COMPUTER SHUTDOWN ON ITS OWN_JAN12 2012.pdf

Did you download the ISO from here?

Memtest86+ - Advanced Memory Diagnostic Tool

I'd do some experiments with single sticks and swapping slots.

And then maybe contact Crucial. I don't know what type of tests they would ask you to run to confirm failures.

Yes, I downloaded Memtest 86+ from this site. Did anyone look at the attached PDF files? So Windows 7 Professional-64 Bit is not the problem in any way? I thought, that to an expert, the PDF's might produce some answers.
