The is more a matter of curiousity, than a problem, since the only video card that I have is connected to the monitor via a DVI-HDMI composite cable, rather than a regular HDMI, but when I noticed that the Xonar D1 audio card that I just purchased for the HTPC included an optical adapter, which is apparently for connecting to a video card, for audio over HDMI, I checked the connections on the desktop, since I knew that the video card in the HTPC lacked anything regarding HDMI. I found that the only HDMI connection is for output, and I don't recall any card with an audio input. I had thought that the video card would obtain an audio signal directly through the PCIe slot, not needing an external input...is that not so? What video cards have an external audio input?
