win7 mouse tracking issue

I have a logitech mx5500 mouse and keyboard combo. Windows 7 home premium. From time to time, my mouse cursor lags and skips around, sometimes to the point of frustration. I was wondering if anyone could help me solve this? I have a Radeon HD6870 with the latest drivers, as well as the latest drivers for the mouse and keyboard.

Have you checked to make sure your mouse batteries are good, that in ordinate amounts of fluff or dust haven't semi-blocked the sensor aperture, and that you're using it on an appropriate surface?

Is your Setpoint Software bang up to date?

the battery life says 9 days left, "fair" and there isnt any dust and im on a mouse pad on a desk. Also I updated the setpoint software earlier today(control center version 6.32.7)(driver version 5.33.14) This problem seems to be intermittent. Usually goes away if I restart the pc, or just wait it out after a long time or so.

im not sure if this matters but the keyboard and mouse use the same bluetooth device via usb, also i have a wifi usb to my router that also uses 2.4ghz, but can be changed to 5ghz. I notice the choppy mouse cursor occured mostly when I was downloading a file, especially if the file was a huge size. So I have changed my wifi signal to 5ghz and left the mouse bluetooth @ 2.4ghz, so far no problems. Will keep you informed
