Windows 7: Too soon for Blu-Ray drives?

I decided to take the plunge and get the LiteOn drive. I used to buy their burners a few years ago until i started getting Samsungs (dirt cheap), but the reviews for this model were good.

No Betamax. No Laserdisc. No Minidisk. (I didn't buy all of the technologies that never achieved popularity.)

I also missed the latter day LS-120 Floptical drive. (Similar technology to the original Floptical, but with a 120 MB nominal capacity.)

In the early 90s, I watched fellow Mac users destroy external Syquest hard drives by ejecting the cartridges before the drives had spun down. Fun, in a way.
