    HD/DVD Enclousre Recomendation

    I know we have some great hardware gurus here and I am in need of advice.

    Here is the deal:
    Looking for an external HD/DVD Enclosure (Has to do both)
    Price<= $30
    SATA interface...IDE interface also would be a plus

    Post your suggestions!

    Thanks for the suggestion Doc...Do most enclousers that are for HDs and are SATA work for DVD drives also?

    I also use a Tri_head external adapter, but it doesn't have a case.

    How do you keep the drive cool with that adapter? I am also a little worried with overheating

    With the tri head I can test laptop ide HD's, Reg IDE HD's, IDE CD & DVD drives, & with the Sata plug, I can format 1tb Sata HD's via my USB port.

    USB to IDE TRI Head adapter for SATA 2.5 3.5 HDD CD PWR - eBay (item 160350411263 end time Aug-20-09 10:11:04 PDT)

    Now that is cheap...should I be concerned about overheating?

    I got 2 HD's just laying on my table via the USB port. If you have a USB PCI card installed with an extra internal port. You could plug it into that & mount the drive in the computer tower.

    These had been so quick for swapping & test HD's.

    I planned to use this for storing things every now and then...I will be getting one or the above (which has a fan...). Thanks so much for the info Doc!
