I have one generic monitor which has a DVI connection and a VGA connection. I would like to know if I can run two PC's at the same time ? Or would this blow the monitor ? My gut feeling is it would blow the monitor.

I'm trying to figure out how to monitor my cpu & ram over a few hours while I'm palying games , and then be able to go back later and look to see what the results were.

I loaded Win7 three computers, 2 desktops and 1 laptop. My Dell XPS is the one that keeps flashing a black screen from time to time. It seems like it is thinking for a few seconds but when this happens it is like my monitor turns off.

So I'm on the fence here. I've been waiting to upgrade from 1680x1050 to 1920x1080 for some time.
I only play some games, watch movies, and maybe a little bit of amateur photo editing. So I'm more concerned with image quality than response time. Still I have budget and space limits....
