Hi my friend...If you want to install the drivers for your "Lexmark X74" on Windows 7 you wont be able to do this cause -> http://support.lexmark.com/index?pag...erlocale=EN_UK look at the compatible OS for it.. And "Lexmark X75" has latest drivers install only for Windows XP 32bit, so I believe you need to change your printer for newer one which is compatible with newer OS systems.
Hope I helped you a bit | My System Specs | | OS Windows 7 Ultimate x64 CPU AMD Phenom II X4 955 3.2GHz 6/8MB Cache Black Edition Motherboard ASUS M5A78L-M/USB3 Memory Corsair 2x2GB / 4GB 1600MHz 1.65v Graphics Card Gainward nVidia GTX 550Ti GS 1GB / 192Bit Sound Card ASUS Xonar 5.1 Monitor(s) Displays LG Flatron E1960 LED Screen Resolution 19 Keyboard Logitech Mouse Logitech PSU ALPINE 700W Case Xclio GodSpeed Two Cooling Coolermaster / Air profile Hard Drives Samsung Spinpoint F3 1TB |

Looking more closely, I've noticed that it doesn't really ask for a language, but it says "The software that you have selected is not available in English. Please select from the list below." And only English is listed. I select & click ok, then the process keeps running for a bit, then just stops without anything else happening. Confusing...

Sure I would try Safe mode, if that still doesn't work have a look here: Compatibility Mode
Go over the procedures in Option One, and if that seems "mostly" okay,
Try running the troubleshooter in Option Two,
You may even feel adventurous, and check into the registry settings in Option Three.
If all that fails then take note of the Note Blue note at the begging of the tutorial, you may have to use an emulator. | My System Specs | | Computer type PC/Desktop System Manufacturer/Model Number Gateway DX4831e (Mid-Tower Desktop) OS Win 7 Home Premium 64bit Ver 6.1.7600 Build 7601 - SP1 CPU Intel i3 530 2.93GHz, 2933MHz 2 Cores 4 Logical Processors Motherboard Gateway H57M01 133 megahertz Memory 6GB of 1,333MHz DDR3 SDRAM Graphics Card 32MB Intel Graphics Media Accelerator HD IGChip Sound Card Realtek High Definition Audio Monitor(s) Displays Gateway HX2000 20inch TFT active matrix TN Screen Resolution 1600 x 900 x 59 hertz Keyboard MS 'Natural' Standard PS/2 Enhanced 101-102 Key Mouse Gateway USB wired optical PSU 300watts. I went ahead with the XP Mode, and turns out that this virtual environment can't see that there's a printer usb plugged in...
I'm going to try Safe Mode-- kept forgetting whenever I'd start up so, lol. I'll try that, too, and post back for how it went.
@epportal3, I know it is listed as not compatible, but I've seen users here saying that they have the same exact one I do, working on 64-bit 7. So tis possible. | My System Specs | | OS Windows 7 Pro x64 SP1 CPU AMD Phenom II x6 1090T Black Edition 3.2GHz Motherboard ASUS M4A88TD-V EVO/USB3 Memory Patriot G ‘Sector 5’ Edition 8GB (2 x 4GB) 1600MHz Sound Card (onboard) Realtek® ALC 892 8-Channel High Definition Audio Monitor(s) Displays ViewSonic VX2253 22", Dell circa-2002 CRT Screen Resolution 1920x1080, 1024x768 Keyboard Verbatim 97472 Mini Wireless Slim Mouse bundled Verbatim 97472 Wireless PSU CORSAIR TX Series 950W ATX12V 80 Plus Bronze Case Cooler Master HAF X NVidia Edition; 5 Green LED Fans! Somehow I only caught it in safe mode: one of the .exe's has "16" on the end. It must be that it's a 16 bit program overall. The Install button wasn't even on the like splash screen where it belongs. =(
Oh well, guess I'm stuck with only printing off my laptop. =/ | My System Specs | | OS Windows 7 Pro x64 SP1 CPU AMD Phenom II x6 1090T Black Edition 3.2GHz Motherboard ASUS M4A88TD-V EVO/USB3 Memory Patriot G ‘Sector 5’ Edition 8GB (2 x 4GB) 1600MHz Sound Card (onboard) Realtek® ALC 892 8-Channel High Definition Audio Monitor(s) Displays ViewSonic VX2253 22", Dell circa-2002 CRT Screen Resolution 1920x1080, 1024x768 Keyboard Verbatim 97472 Mini Wireless Slim Mouse bundled Verbatim 97472 Wireless PSU CORSAIR TX Series 950W ATX12V 80 Plus Bronze Case Cooler Master HAF X NVidia Edition; 5 Green LED Fans!
