Laptop batteries on Ebay... Well the battery in my HP Pavilion laptop seems like it's ready to go down for the dirt nap, and I was wondering if anyone has any experience with the ones sold on Ebay, or Amazon..
Any advice would be greatly appreciated..
Thanks..

I would avoid any batteries not from HP or other computer manufactures. You will pay more but if they blow up in your face you have recourse. A third-party after market battery you have no recourse if it fails. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Dell Inspiron e1705 OS Windows 7 (7600) x86 CPU Intel Core 2 Duo T7200 (2 GHz) Motherboard Unknown Dell MB Memory 2 GB Graphics Card ATI Mobility Radeon x1400 (128 MB Dedicated) Sound Card SigmaTel HD Audio; Turtle Beach Audio Advantage SRM Monitor(s) Displays Laptop 17" Screen Resolution 1920x1200 Other Info Dell Inspiron Mini 10v (Intel Atom N270 1.6 GHz; 1GB; Windows 7 Ultimate) |

I recently had my battery changed on my DELL laptop.I got the company one even though the batteries from other sources were cheaper. When it comes to batteries go with the laptop manufacturer. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number DELL OS windows 7 home premium 64 bit/windows 8 CP dual boot, windows XP in VMware :) CPU intel i3 2.40 Ghz Motherboard DELL inc Memory 6 GB RAM Graphics Card Integrated Intel HD Sound Card Realtek high definition SRS surround sound Screen Resolution 1366*768 Hard Drives 320 GB Internet Speed 1Mbps |

I got one for my HP over a year ago and it works great. Has 2 year warranty. Laptop Battery Depot: Your source for batteries!

I have bought a few replacements from both sources. No issues.
I do not buy the after-market "compatible" parts. I buy the branded replacements from sellers with good rep.
The parts look genuine, the numbers match, and they perform like the real deal. How they can sell these parts for much less than the manufacturer is just typical retail marketing. The manufacturer will sell it for full MSRP (there are a bunch of business reasons why it is important they do this), but wholesalers and retailers can discount the price to their hearts content. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number DESKTOP - Home Built - March 2009 OS Windows 7 64 Bit Home Premium SP1 CPU i7-920 Motherboard Asus P6T - Bios 1408 Memory Corsair TR3X6G1333C9 - 6GB Graphics Card EVGA GeForce GTX260+ - Driver 296.10 Sound Card On board Realtek ACL1200 Monitor(s) Displays Dell 2007FP Screen Resolution 1280 x 960 Keyboard MS KC-0405 Mouse Intellimouse 5-button PSU Corsair CMPSU-750TX - 750 watt Case Lian Li PC-K10B Cooling Standard, 3 120mm case fans Hard Drives #1- Western Digital WD6401AALS Sata Black

In this case, you get what you pay for. A no name would probably work, but it might not last very long. | My System Specs | | OS Windows 7 Ultimate x64 SP1 CPU Intel Core i7-2600 Motherboard Gigabyte GA-P67A-UD3P-B3 Memory 12 GB Patriot Extreme DDR3-1333 Graphics Card Nvidia GTX 470 Monitor(s) Displays Dell UltraSharp 2209WA PSU OCZ ModStream 700W Case CoolerMaster HAF 912 Advanced Cooling CoolerMaster Hyper 212 Plus Hard Drives OCZ Agility3 240 GB, WD5001AALS, WD7501AALS |

Avoid chinese made knock off batteries. They seem like a great deal, but then you find they don't hold a charge, don't last long, don't quite fit, etc. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Self-Built in July 2009 OS Windows 7 Ultimate x64 CPU Intel Q9550 2.83Ghz OC'd to 3.40Ghz Motherboard Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3R rev. 1.1, F12 BIOS Memory 8GB G.Skill PI DDR2-800, 4-4-4-12 timings Graphics Card EVGA 1280MB Nvidia GeForce GTX570 Sound Card Realtek ALC899A 8 channel onboard audio Monitor(s) Displays 23" Acer x233H Screen Resolution 1920x1080 Keyboard ABS M1 Mechanical Mouse Logitech G9 Laser Mouse PSU Corsair 620HX modular Case Antec P182 Cooling stock Hard Drives Intel X25-M 80GB Gen 2 SSD
