Manedeth,
Welcome to SF. I would back up all important data to another HDD drive or flash drive. Once all your data is backed up and secure then do a quick format and this will wipe all data off drive. Now do a clean install of Windows 7 64 bit and install all your software then transfer your data back in and you are off to the races.

To install 64 bit you got to wipe it out, so make sure to back up any important files you have on some type of external storage device were you can keep them safe. To fresh install look at this tutorial by brink.

you back up your data first, like what you want to keep for example music, photos, documents and anything else you believe you must save on another storage device. Then put your hdd in your new pc then boot to the windows cd and format the hdd and install windows 7 64bit and then validate your windows key, so your copy is registered and then you can put your back up files you had backed up on another device on your hdd with win 7 64bit installed and your done and enjoy using win 7 64 bit.
