Here is my Crucial M4 SSD's performance on the Marvell 6G Controller.
Is the performance comparison good when compared to the other M4 SSDs?
Also, do you think i'll have a better performance on the intel port? | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Custom Built OS Windows 7 Professional x64 CPU Intel Core i7 2600k - 3.4 GHz Motherboard Asus Maximus IV Z68 - Extreme Memory 4x4 Ripjaws X79 Series 2133 MHz (9-11-10-28) Graphics Card 1x eVGA GTX 580 - 3GB Classified Sound Card Realtek ALC 889 HD Audio Monitor(s) Displays Full HD Philips TV 32" Screen Resolution 1920x1080 Keyboard Logitech K800 Wireless Mouse Logitech Performance MX Laser PSU 800W Coolermaster Silentpro Gold Case Sentey - Renegade GS-6200 Cooling Stock Hard Drives 1x Crucial m4 SSD 512 GB Internet Speed 10MB Internet Connection |

Nice scores, AlexRD. Traditionally, Marvell ports do not get along well with SSDs, that may have changed in the past year. I have a friend who says he gets better scores on the 3Gb/s Intel ports than the Marvell ports. Others say they don't. I guess it just depends on the machine and the drivers used. | My System Specs | | Computer type PC/Desktop System Manufacturer/Model Number Home Built- Always under construction OS Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 X64/ linux in VM CPU Intel i7-3770K Motherboard Asus Maximus V Extreme Z77 Memory 8GB G.Skill Ripjaws Z DDR3-2400 (2X4GB) Graphics Card EVGA GTX 670 SC 4GB Sound Card On Board Monitor(s) Displays Asus 24" LCD Screen Resolution 1920X1080 Keyboard Logitech G510 Mouse Logitech G500 PSU CORSAIR AX850 Case Cooler Master HAF X Cooling Custom Water Cooling Hard Drives Samsung 840 Pro 256 GB, Samsung 840 Pro 256 GB, Samsung 830 256GB, Samsung HD103SJ 1TB . Just bought a Samsung 840Pro but it doesn't seem any better than my Intel 520. Look at the Write speeds on both. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Dell XPS 8300 OS Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit CPU i7-2600 Memory 8gb Graphics Card AMD Radeon 6770 Monitor(s) Displays hp w2007 |

It is better in a number of areas. You are just measuring Sequential Read/Write speeds there........which are useless. Run both of them through AS SSD and see what the results are. | My System Specs | | Computer type PC/Desktop System Manufacturer/Model Number Custom Built OS Windows 7 Professional 64bit SP1 CPU Intel Core i5-3570K @ 4.5GHz Motherboard Asus Sabertooth Z77 Memory Corsair Vengeance 16GB (4x4) @1866MHz Graphics Card Intel HD4000 Sound Card Onboard Audio Monitor(s) Displays Dell S2309W Screen Resolution 1920x1080 Keyboard Max Nighthawk X8 Mechanical keyboard Mouse Logitech MX 500 Wired PSU Seasonic X750 80+ Gold Full Modular Case Antec Eleven Hundred Super Mid Tower Cooling Intel Liquid Cooler Hard Drives Samsung 830 128GB SSD - OS

Okay, here are the results on AS SSD Benchmark: Everthing looks better here than ATTO.
What is your assessment based on AS SSD and ATTO. Which brand is better? The Samsung is, in 4K read/write and really low access times, the main reason SSDs are so fast. | My System Specs | | Computer type PC/Desktop System Manufacturer/Model Number Home Built Desktop By DataTech OS Windows 7 Ultimate X64 SP1 CPU Intel i5-2550K, Differing ~4.4-4.8GHz No built in GPU Motherboard ASUS P8Z68-V PRO/GEN3 Memory 16GB G.Skill Sniper 2133MHz 4x4GB Graphics Card ASUS ENGTX460 DirectCU/2DI/1GD5 GeForce GTX 460 Sound Card Onboard Realtek 5-1 Monitor(s) Displays Samsung P2570HD Screen Resolution 1920x1080 Keyboard Old, beat-up Dell USB From 10 yrs Ago Mouse Gigabyte m6900 wired PSU Corsair HX650W Case Inwin Dragon Rider Cooling Hyper 212 EVO w/two Noctua fans, push-pull, @1300 RPM Hard Drives Crucial M4 128GB for OS, 750GB Seagate MomentusXT for data, 500GB Seagate Constellation for storage Internet Speed 8-19 Mbs down, 3-4 Mbs up Comcast Cable Antivirus Norton Internet Security Browser IE 9, Opera when needed Other Info 4 case fans, LG BluRay-RE, ASUS DVD-RW, Mr. Fusion power generator with flux capacitor, 1.21 gigawatts. |
