I have done a clean install after a secure erase with Parted Magic. My previous best was 744. I used Kari's tutorial for the install. | My System Specs | | Computer type PC/Desktop System Manufacturer/Model Number Home Built Desktop By DataTech OS Windows 7 Ultimate X64 SP1 CPU Intel i5-2550K, Differing ~4.4-4.8GHz No built in GPU Motherboard ASUS P8Z68-V PRO/GEN3 Memory 16GB G.Skill Sniper 2133MHz 4x4GB Graphics Card ASUS ENGTX460 DirectCU/2DI/1GD5 GeForce GTX 460 Sound Card Onboard Realtek 5-1 Monitor(s) Displays Samsung P2570HD Screen Resolution 1920x1080 Keyboard Old, beat-up Dell USB From 10 yrs Ago Mouse Gigabyte m6900 wired PSU Corsair HX650W Case Inwin Dragon Rider Cooling Hyper 212 EVO w/two Noctua fans, push-pull, @1300 RPM Hard Drives Crucial M4 128GB for OS, 750GB Seagate MomentusXT for data, 500GB Seagate Constellation for storage Internet Speed 8-19 Mbs down, 3-4 Mbs up Comcast Cable Antivirus Norton Internet Security Browser IE 9, Opera when needed Other Info 4 case fans, LG BluRay-RE, ASUS DVD-RW, Mr. Fusion power generator with flux capacitor, 1.21 gigawatts. |

Well, after almost 3 weeks worth of use and almost 40GB more data on it, here are the results from my Samsung 830 128GB ssd......still running like a champ! I don't even see a need in running the Performance Optimizer in the Samsung Utility, it doesn't seem like it's lost a step.

If you keep an eye on Newegg, every once in awhile they will have the 128gb bare drive for around $100 and the 256gb model for less than 2 bills! I think the next time I catch the 256gb model for less than $200 I will snatch me one up! | My System Specs | | Computer type PC/Desktop System Manufacturer/Model Number Custom Built OS Windows 7 Professional 64bit SP1 CPU Intel Core i5-3570K @ 4.5GHz Motherboard Asus Sabertooth Z77 Memory Corsair Vengeance 16GB (4x4) @1866MHz Graphics Card Intel HD4000 Sound Card Onboard Audio Monitor(s) Displays Dell S2309W Screen Resolution 1920x1080 Keyboard Max Nighthawk X8 Mechanical keyboard Mouse Logitech MX 500 Wired PSU Seasonic X750 80+ Gold Full Modular Case Antec Eleven Hundred Super Mid Tower Cooling Intel Liquid Cooler Hard Drives Samsung 830 128GB SSD - OS

Crucial and Samsung SSD prices are both falling. This makes me wonder if some new and faster SSDs are on the horizon.

Odd all of your scores except the Read Access are much better than mine yet the total score is quite a bit different. | My System Specs | | Computer type PC/Desktop System Manufacturer/Model Number Home Built Desktop By DataTech OS Windows 7 Ultimate X64 SP1 CPU Intel i5-2550K, Differing ~4.4-4.8GHz No built in GPU Motherboard ASUS P8Z68-V PRO/GEN3 Memory 16GB G.Skill Sniper 2133MHz 4x4GB Graphics Card ASUS ENGTX460 DirectCU/2DI/1GD5 GeForce GTX 460 Sound Card Onboard Realtek 5-1 Monitor(s) Displays Samsung P2570HD Screen Resolution 1920x1080 Keyboard Old, beat-up Dell USB From 10 yrs Ago Mouse Gigabyte m6900 wired PSU Corsair HX650W Case Inwin Dragon Rider Cooling Hyper 212 EVO w/two Noctua fans, push-pull, @1300 RPM Hard Drives Crucial M4 128GB for OS, 750GB Seagate MomentusXT for data, 500GB Seagate Constellation for storage Internet Speed 8-19 Mbs down, 3-4 Mbs up Comcast Cable Antivirus Norton Internet Security Browser IE 9, Opera when needed Other Info 4 case fans, LG BluRay-RE, ASUS DVD-RW, Mr. Fusion power generator with flux capacitor, 1.21 gigawatts. |

That is probably true...... and maybe they are capitalizing on the unwavering prices of HDD's. SSD prices are starting to hit the market of people who "won't get one until they are under $1/GB" . | My System Specs | | Computer type PC/Desktop System Manufacturer/Model Number Custom Built OS Windows 7 Professional 64bit SP1 CPU Intel Core i5-3570K @ 4.5GHz Motherboard Asus Sabertooth Z77 Memory Corsair Vengeance 16GB (4x4) @1866MHz Graphics Card Intel HD4000 Sound Card Onboard Audio Monitor(s) Displays Dell S2309W Screen Resolution 1920x1080 Keyboard Max Nighthawk X8 Mechanical keyboard Mouse Logitech MX 500 Wired PSU Seasonic X750 80+ Gold Full Modular Case Antec Eleven Hundred Super Mid Tower Cooling Intel Liquid Cooler Hard Drives Samsung 830 128GB SSD - OS
