    OCZ Vertex 4?

OK, I asked this before and didn't get much info so I'll ask again.....

Any thoughts on the OCZ Vertex 4 drives? I have a 120gig Vertex 2 which has served me well but am looking to upgrade to more space for photo processing purposes.

Anyway the reason I ask is that I haven't been following the world of PC's like in the past as I have school and my photography, however I did hear, or thought I heard, some rumblings about OCZ's (fading) quality.

BTW I’m looking at the 256gig drive for $189 bucks

    Thanks

For a 256MB SSD that is a good price.

    Best I found on a 256MB Samsung is $230 here> Newegg.com - SAMSUNG 830 Series MZ-7PC256B/WW 2.5" 256GB SATA III MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)

I have not heard any complaints on the V4.

Personally I would go with the Samsung but I don't think you would go wrong with the Vertex 4.

My 2 cents. I hope that helps.

Every other week, Newegg has the Samsung 256gb model at/under $200. Best I've seen it for was $179 a couple of months ago. It was $189 only 3 weeks ago. If you can catch it for about $200, grab one...you won't be disappointed.

Thanks Gary, those scores look damn fine to me :)

Thanks for the suggestion Mike but I tend to stay brand loyal unless I have a bad experience or something else blows it away. Anyway I was just wondering how the new drive is doing with Indilinx controller over the old Sandforce ones.

    Thanks

BTW there was a rumor that Seagate may purchase OCZ - Seagate: Earnings Due Monday; More Speculation On OCZ - Forbes

Hi bud, I am just away on holiday at the moment so can't type a lot on my phone but so far the v4 has been running great for me, I am real happy with it. I read a lot of reviews on it before I bought it and they all seemed very positive.

I've just bought an OCZ 128GB Vertex 4 Series for my new desktop and have put the old OCZ Agility 3 into the notebook. Do these figures look right to you guys for an older notebook, feels much faster than it was with the HDD but can't help thinking it should be slightly faster or is it just the limits of the notebook.

You won't go wrong with a 64gb crucial m4, it's been proven to be one of the most reliable ssd ever. They are cheap now and also perform very well.
