No joy....

Still won't pick up the keyboard on boot.

I have no idea.... :-(

PS2 Keyboard is my only option remaining. That can be sorted tomorrow or Friday.

Very grateful for your help and if you know any more tips please pass over if you have the free time :-)

The Gigabyte motherboard on my second computer was very picky about keyboards when it came to entering the BIOS. My Razer/Microsoft keyboard wouldn't work; my old MS 600 keyboard would. Both are USB keyboards.

The biggest difference between the two is that the Razer keyboard has a lot of fancy extra buttons. I suspect a plain-vanilla USB keyboard might do the trick. You can also follow Qdos' suggestion and use a PS/2 keyboard. Don't know what it's like over there, but here in the US you can find them for about $3. I see them all the time sitting at the curb on trash day.

I always keep basic PS/2 and plain USB keyboards kicking around for circumstances like this, because I've never found another workaround for accessing the BIOS. Luckily for you it wasn't also set to 'Halt on Keyboard Error' or you'd never have managed to boot into Windows either...

Thank you for the +rep

Darn....I just saw this post. Glad your all sorted now. My question is; where you connecting the keyboard directly to the mobo and if so what port? Where you connecting the keyboard to a usb add on card?

The reason I'm asking is I just went through this a few weeks ago and couldn't get into my BIOS either. I did some spring cleaning on my case and unplugged everything. Then plugged everything back in when I was done and found out I couldn't get into my BIOS...after some soul searching and head scratching I realized I had a couple of my usb connections switched around. I reversed them a voila I had access to my BIOS.

Some BIOS have an option to enable legacy USB. If this is checked you can use USB KB before Windows has loaded.

But of course you need to borrow a PS/2 KB to get into the BIOS to change it.
